About Telemedicine Society of India - Karnataka Chapter

Telemedicine Society of India (TSI) is an academic organization that promotes education, research and care of patients using telemedicine and eHealth. The society got formally registered in the year 2006 at Lucknow. TSI was also recognized as the official national society to represent the telemedicine activities in India, by The International Society for Telemedicine and e- Health.

The organization was set with the following objectives:

   +   To promote and encourage development in the science of telemedicine and associated fields through research advancements.
   +   To encourage the implementation and use of telemedicine technology in education, research and clinical care in medicine
   +   To promote networking and collaboration among the stakeholders in telemedicine technology
   +   To increase the penetration of telemedicine through trainings, scientific meetings, seminars and workshops for students, health professionals, research fellows and technicians in the healthcare sector
   +   To formulate appropriate clinical and industry policies and standards.
   +   To work closely with scientific organizations and industry towards development of innovative products and services in tele- health

Mr. L.S.Satyamurthy, Ex-Director, Antix Corporation & Program Director for ISRO Telemedicine program, Bangalore & Ex - President,Telemedicine Society of India. He has been successfully implementing the telemedicine initiatives of ISRO. He has a firm belief that the telemedicine is one of the solutions for health care for our country and the telemedicine technologies can be successfully adopted for the societal benefits in bringing health care to the rural and the underserved population both in India and other developing countries. Presently he is the CEO of Medtel Health, VGSL.

Dr. Sunita Maheshwari is a Pediatric Cardiologist and Chief Dreamer at RxDx and Teleradiology Solutions. She was associated with Narayana Hrudayalaya Hospital as Head of Department of Pediatric Cardiology for close to a decade. She has got her training from Yale University, New Heaven, USA. Born in US and brought up in Hyderabad. She has been forayed in Radguru.net where she teaches about teleradiology solutions and has also developed the cardiology curriculum accredited by NBE via pediatric E learning.

Apart from her medical clinical work she is a medical entrepreneur and is the chief dreamer at Teleradiology Solutions, Telerad tech, RXDX clinics in Bangalore which support the groups tele health activities.

Jeyaseelan Jeyaraj (Jey) is Asia Pacific Director in the Health Sciences Global Business Unit at Oracle Corporation. To his credit he has been the recipient of "Applied Innovation Award" for product innovation at Wipro Technologies. Jey has been actively involved in Telehealth & Health Informatics for 15 years. He has extensive experience in healthcare IT having consulted leading health leading Public Health Systems, Healthcare Providers, Medical Devices & Pharmaceuticals globally on their clinical IT transformation. He has published several papers and articles on personal health technologies and co-authored many reports on e-health technologies. Prior joining to Oracle, Jey was the Healthcare Solution Lead at EMC Corporation and prior to that he was the Practice Lead of Cisco's Global Healthcare Solutions.

Dr. Sanjay is a healthcare technologist & management consultant and carries over 15 years’ of experience. He has done his graduation from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka with MS in General Surgery, PhD in Ayurveda. He is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management, (IIM) Bangalore in 1999. Dr. Sharma, is the Chief Consultant and Director of APTA Healthcare Advisers, at Bangalore, affiliated to Indian Podiatry Association. He has been a part of organizations such as Medanta, Neurosynaptic Communications, Healthways, and GMR Group. He is also the national executive member of TSI.

G Krishnamurthy, prevalently known as ‘Krish’ found PeopleHealth in November, 2004 after spending close to a decade in the business of marketing communication, with primary responsibility of establishing the service provider network; recommend suitable health approach and implement the programs for the client base of PeopleHealth; identify newer areas of association to leverage the PeopleHealth approach and philosophies. Krish commenced his career in 1996 as a trainee with Mudra Communications, the third largest communication agency in India at that time. He went to become a communication consultant at Mudra, worked on some of the leading brands such as Kingfisher, Braun, Godrej and Sinagpore Tourism.

Mr. Rajeev is the Founder Director at Neurosynaptic Communications. Mr Rajeev has received various honors and awards because of his outstanding knowledge and innovative thinking. He has been honored by Karmaveer Puraskaar, NASSCOM Social Innovation Honours, AFI Growth Prize 2012, Technology Pioneer by World Economic Forum.

Mr. Sameer Sawarkar is the founder and Chief Executive officer at Neurosynaptic Communications Pvt. Ltd. Mr. Swarkar has multiple honors and awards into his account because of his professional excellence. He had been a Winner: YourStory 2010 Social Enterprise Category, Finalist: Sankalp-2009 Award in the Health Track – high impact, Indian Business Club at MIT, Boston, Technology Pioneer – 2008, World Economic Forum, Switzerland.

 
About Telemedicine Society of India

Telemedicine Society of India – Karnataka Chapter was established on 19th February 2015 under the dynamic leadership of former president of TSI, Mr.L.S.Satyamurthy. Karnataka has emerged as a leader in the implementation and use of technology in healthcare since the last decade. Telemedicine has facilitated specialist health care to reach remote underserved rural population in Karnataka. Yet, many hurdles exist in the large-scale implementation and acceptance of Telemedicine in health care delivery system. The primary and foremost priority of TSI-Karnataka is to popularize and mitigate the challenges faced by health sector in adopting Telemedicine. One of the most important objectives of TSI-K is to be a collaborative platform for technology providers and service providers. To address key issues plaguing Telemedicine implementation in Karnataka, TSI-K had organised the first conclave on Telemedicine – “Impacts and Trends in Telemedicine in Telemedicine -2015” on 12th September 2015 in Bengaluru Karnataka.
